Did you manage to get through all of January's New Year parties? We're here to help you get through the rest of 2017! Our services and platforms are future-ready: a user experience that makes you happy and keeps you safe. We combine creativity with 'corporate standards'. We paved the way for a safe 2017: a secure chat tool, our super safe platform Plek, and many penetration tests of our different platforms executed by 'ethical hackers' - which we all passed with ease.
Last Autumn, Rik already wrote about it in his often-shared Frankwatching article (Dutch only): WhatsApp and other (American) consumer chat services are not appropriate for business use. That’s why we developed our own secure chat, as a part of our communication platform Plek. One-on-one or group chat, in your browser, as a desktop app, and in our new native iOS and Android apps.
One of our first chat and app clients was KPMG Nederland. Of course information security was a very important criterion for the accountants and consultants of the world’s largest companies. ‘Ethical hackers’ executed another penetration test and they didn’t manage to hack Plek. We subsequently implemented Plek for KPMG on their own new Microsoft Azure server.
Other clients have also had penetration tests executed last year. They discovered that all our platforms meet the OWASP Top-10 requirements. Beat that!
Safe versus friendly
Security can also lead to unexpected risks when taken too far. If ‘safe’ means ‘complicated’ (SharePoint through VPN anyone?), most employees will clandestinely opt for other solutions such as WhatsApp.
Here at ILUMY we value security. It’s inherent to our digital products and services and to the way we work. That’s why we can aim for the optimum user experience in our concepts and designs. Lately we’ve exhibited this in Trespa’s renewed website, a new (internal) app for the Amsterdam Fire Brigade, and in the 4 new Plek launches we already did this year.
